How We Count Robotics Funding

What counts as money raised

Funding rounds (pre-seed through growth) and IPOs count toward each week's disclosed total and the "biggest round". Acquisitions, debt and credit facilities, deals only reported by sources, and mergers into listed shell companies are listed in their own sections. We do not add them to the total.

Currencies

Amounts are shown in US dollars. When a deal is announced in another currency we convert it to dollars at about the rate on the announcement date and show the original figure beside it where we have it.

Sources

We collect deals from trade and business news, press releases and funding databases in several languages, including Chinese, Japanese and Korean sources. Each deal links to the source we used. We tag a deal as "reported, not confirmed" when only one outlet has it and the company has not confirmed it.

Weeks and updates

A week runs Monday to Sunday and is named by its Sunday. Each week is published the following Monday. A page can change later when we find a missed deal, and its modified date moves only when the content changes.

Coverage

We list the deals we tracked. Other trackers may list more. We do not claim to list every deal in the world.
